R55 was founded in the fall of 2006 and its membership consists of community musicians who are serious about their commitment to making authentic Big Band Jazz in the tradition of Basie, Kenton, Miller, and more!

Our mission is not only to perform, but to sponsor, promote, and educate our community with regard to jazz as America's great original music. 

R55 rehearses in the beautiful new Holly Springs Cultural Center, about 10 miles southwest of Raleigh, NC. We currently have no chairs open, but are always in need of qualified subs.
